Answer: While associations are not a guarantee of career advancement, it is a great way to keep up what the movers and shakers in the industry.  If there is a local or regional chapter of the association, chances are there is a monthly or quarterly meeting that brings Supply Chain Professionals together.  This is an excellent opportunity to network with other Supply Chain Management professionals. Networking can serve in many positive ways including learning of new career opportunities, information on new suppliers and information on existing suppliers.  Associations can be great for developing relationships in the Supply Chain Industry.
