Question: I completed the Supply Chain Management Specialist (SCM) program through BusinessTraining.com. I have a good fundamental base of Supply Chain Management knowledge now. What type of personal self development work should I now focus on to further my career success in this field?
Answer: There are various areas that can be developed to ensure success in this field. One is computer skill. Make sure you are competent in the Microsoft office products, for example Microsoft Excel is spreadsheet software that will prove very resourceful in the various task that may have to be performed. Microsoft word and power point knowledge can also be useful. Developing excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, can also be an asset for this position. There is a lot of communication that has to take place between this position and others, and the ability to do so effectively may be the difference between getting the job done properly.
